- Set your fan to AUTO. This is free and fixes more humidity complaints than people expect. Flip it from ON to AUTO at the thermostat.
- Change your air filter. A dirty filter chokes airflow across the coil. In our dusty, high-run-time summers, check it monthly.
- Look at your outdoor unit. Clear grass, leaves, and salt-air grime off the condenser so it can breathe.
- Find your condensate drain line. If you see standing water in the pan or the line, it may be clogged. Some homeowners flush it with a little vinegar, but if the unit is dripping indoors, shut it down and call us.
If you've done all of that and the house still feels swampy, the issue is inside the system — coil, charge, sizing, or ducts — and that's where a licensed tech needs to put eyes and gauges on it.

It also costs you money. A system that runs and runs trying to make a muggy house feel cool burns electricity the whole time — and your power bill in July and August shows it.
